How do I setup my system to maximize battery backup during outages?
During outages your Powerwall will power your home using its stored energy. To maximize your battery backup during outages, you will want to make sure that your Powerwall is at full charge when an outage occurs. This can be done by setting your Powerwall to Self-Powered mode with a Backup Reserve of 100%. When your Backup Reserve is set to 100% the Powerwall will maintain a full charge and ONLY discharge during outages. This ensures that your Powerwall will be at full charge when an outage occurs and is known as u2018Full Backup'.
How do I setup my system to save money and backup my home?
Each system is going to have different Time-Based Controls that will give the homeowner the best possible economic value for their system, and it will vary depending on the electricity prices for their home. Which settings maximize cost savings may change with the seasons, as production and consumption patterns shift. As a rule, minimizing import of grid electricity during higher cost periods while prioritizing export of electricity during those high-cost periods to accrue credit with the utility company to use when buying electricity during lower production times will do the best for mitigating costs.
How long does a roofing project usually take?
It varies, but for most houses, we'll be in and out within 3-4 days. If you have a big house, it's going to take longer. 3-4 days is a pretty good average time for a roofing project.
Can I get a new roof if I already have solar panels installed?
The great thing about working with Semper is we're a solar contractor, and we're a roofing contractor. A majority of systems we can remove and reinstall for you without getting anyone else involved.
